(1st May) Beltane marks the return of vitality and passion of the coming summer. The Welsh goddess Creiddylad is often called the May Queen, she is a Goddess of summer flowers and love. Cernunnos is a protector of the forest and master of the hunt. The embodiment of masculine energy and power. Cernunnos is the horned god (Greek God Pan) a mysterious Gaelic deity connected with male animals, particularly the stag in rut, and is associated with fertility and lust, vegetation, the master of wild places and things.
In his aspect as the Green Man, he is a god of vegetation and trees, a symbol of rebirth, representing the cycle of new growth that occurs every spring.
